In Arizona, sun and fun go hand-in-hand. So it’s the perfect time to celebrate two Arizona artists who epitomize both! Sheila’s brilliant-hued renditions of southwest flora and fauna highlight the natural treasures that flourish in our sunny summer environment. And Susan’s lithe, whimsical sculptures will bring the carefree vacation spirit right into your home. Come enjoy one of our balmy summer evenings and join us for this special event.
Susan molds the vitality of life and movement using fiber clay as her medium of choice. Her female dancing sculptures emerge as fierce, independent, sexy, humorous or engaging. Each one embodies the happiness of being their own full-blown expression of themselves—wearing, always, signature Red Boots. Susan also crafts whimsical animals sporting summery yoga outfits and, of course, tiny Red Boots.
Sheila is a lifelong resident of the Sonoran Desert. During her childhood summers, she rested beneath the area’s cottonwood and palo verde trees, refreshing herself in the monsoon rainstorms. And she focused upon the minute details of desert life. These days, Sheila’s love of natural color and form highlights her beautifully rendered cliff faces, streambed pebbles, and fanciful plant life struggling to establish a foothold in a challenging environment.
