Lori Call - Abstract Realism

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Lori grew up in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley, NY. Much of her inspiration comes from this magical place of woodland streams and rocky glens. Riding her horse through the fields and woods surrounding her home was Lori’s favorite way of exploring. Her father, an artist himself, provided plenty of materials to feed her creativity. Because of this, her passion for creating art grew into a dream of becoming a professional artist.

Lori studied at the State University of NY at Purchase, Brigham Young University, Utah, and graduated from the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute in Queen Creek, AZ.

With abstract realism, Lori invites you into delightful spaces that come together with your imagination. Using mixed-media techniques, and finishing with richly pigmented oils, she composes the image layers into dreamy possibilities. Lori hopes that in these windows into another world observers will find a little spark of magic, and encouragement to hold onto and realize their dreams.

Sue Ann Dickey ~ Natural Stones
ABOUT THE ARTIST

I grew up near the Columbia River Gorge and to this day, nature is my muse. Standing next to my mother who was an exceptional artist; I was led gently and taught a wide variety of art forms. A favorite memory is standing at my easel, she at hers, the oils between us Mom taught me that a compelling picture happens when the artist is emotionally connected and paints with conviction.
James Sagerser ~ Aluminum Wire Sculpture
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Growing up in Alaska with adventurous, supportive parents, was truly a blessing. As a homesteading family living in a one-room cabin with no electricity, a wood stove for cooking, and limited resources, creativity wasn’t only fun but necessary. It’s amazing what a person can create with a little imagination and salvaged “treasures”.

My current “artistic chapter” started as usual, in a salvage yard sifting through aluminum plating for my welding art class project. Instead, I found a barrel with short sections of multi-stranded, aluminum electrical wire. I bought a few sections, stripped off the sheathing, separated and cleaned the strands, and started crafting a few metal flower bouquets. It wasn’t long before I was back at the salvage yard searching for aluminum stock to make an armature for a model sculpture. That led to my present passion; sculpting with repurposed aluminum wire. As the only artist anywhere sculpting with “looped wire,” it’s been challenging but wonderfully rewarding.
