Tamera Abaté ~ Encaustic

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I started drawing and painting as a child, my parents were very encouraging and supportive of my exploring. I started working as a professional artist in my early 30’s.

Sally Borg ~ Whimsical Metal Art

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I use old tools, shovels, and metal pieces to make whimsical sculptures in my garage in south Scottsdale.  I love the texture and color of rusty steel, and when I can bring new life to discarded metal, creating a piece that makes people smile, I feel fulfilled.  The joy I get from creating shines in my lighthearted work.

When I’m not making art, I can be found walking my dog, swimming, cycling, cooking, entertaining – anything but sitting still.

Ahmed Cannon ~ Figurative Oil Artist
ABOUT THE ARTIST

My goal with my art is that you feel the emotion & the essence of whatever I paint.

Jenny Carrillo ~ Fine Art Photography
ABOUT THE ARTIST

My journey with photography began with a fascination for the stark contrasts and raw beauty of black and white film, capturing the essence of trees, nature and landscapes. Over time, my lens turned inward, and I began to explore the complexities of the human experience—vulnerability, strength, and transformation.

This introspective shift transformed my work from documenting moments to creating deeply personal narratives. I now use symbolic lighting and dreamlike elements to evoke emotional resonance, delving into the internal landscapes of the human psyche.

The interplay of light and shadow, the intricate details of nature, and the raw, unfiltered human experience fuel my creativity. I am drawn to the stories often hidden behind masks, aiming to unveil these narratives of vulnerability and strength. My work celebrates the inherent beauty within and around us, inviting viewers to pause, connect, and reflect on their inner journeys.

Influenced by my background in community initiatives, I prioritize genuine connections with those I photograph. My narrative-driven photography infuses ordinary scenes with surreal qualities, inspiring awe and introspection. Through my art, I seek to inspire meaningful connections, encouraging people to appreciate the beauty in daily life and their inner experiences.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

l'm a local artist and have shown my oil landscape paintings in Arizona's fine art galleries for 40 years. My love of Arizona lands deepened when I became a founding member of the Central Arizona Backpackers' Association. l felt a true passion to paint what I saw, including the peace l felt in nature. My landscape views expanded with my travels to Jackson Hole, Aspen, and Santa Fe and I was fortunate to also become represented in their local fine art galleries over the years.

A few career highlights include ... being a Landscapes Honoree at the "Best of Scottsdale" Show & Gala (20O5) ... having a Grand Canyon painting filling the inside back cover of an Arizona Highways magazine and in the magazine's Prescott show (2000) ... and having a Grand Canyon painting in the Top 100 of the Natlonal "Paint the Parks" touring show (2011-12).

I love to paint and study art every day as a lifelong learner. I talk about art whenever I can. I also love teaching and have been a local art instructor at the renowned Scottsdale Artists' School for almost 10 years. l'm a member of Oil Painters of America and enjoy being on the critique team of the Scottsdale Artists' League.

Jennifer Golubiewski ~ Acrylic Palette Knife
ABOUT THE ARTIST

I’ve been making art as long as I can remember. Truth be told I was not the best student, I quickly realized in elementary school I could raise my grades significantly by doing extra credit art projects. I went on to receive a BS in textile science focused on Apparel design. Working in the field for over 25 years I made a major career change in 2024 to be the Direct of an art gallery in Scottsdale and focus on creating my art.

Cheryl Prather ~ Watercolor
ABOUT THE ARTIST

I paint in watercolor. It is a challenging medium to say the least. But, oh how I love it! To me, it is very organic. Colors blend, and mingle and texturize in such a way that you  could never get with any other medium. Once you get an understanding of its properties you can let go and let the paint and water do its thing, naturally. It’s fascinating!

Joanna Pregon ~ Oils
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Creating art is a vital outlet for me and a reliable tool for processing life’s challenges and joys.  The act of painting allows me to let go of deep emotions while reaching for understanding and peace.

Rich Roberts ~ Metal Kinetic Sculptures
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Rich has built everything from furniture to bridges. His artistic interest and creativity started very young. He would spend late nights sketching and designing all kinds of things. Once he used old wood and metal to make his own airplane. Fortunately, he couldn't find an engine or wheels to allow him to launch it or he might not be here today.

Focusing currently on steel and kinetic movement he collaborates with other artists to add glass, wood, copper and anything that fits the mood to enhance his creations. There is no telling what will be created today.

James Sagerser ~ Wire Sculptures
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Growing up in Alaska with adventurous, supportive parents, was truly a blessing. As a homesteading family living in a one-room cabin with no electricity, a wood stove for cooking, and limited resources, creativity wasn’t only fun but necessary. It’s amazing what a person can create with a little imagination and salvaged “treasures”.

My current “artistic chapter” started as usual, in a salvage yard sifting through aluminum plating for my welding art class project. Instead, I found a barrel with short sections of multi-stranded, aluminum electrical wire. I bought a few sections, stripped off the sheathing, separated and cleaned the strands, and started crafting a few metal flower bouquets. It wasn’t long before I was back at the salvage yard searching for aluminum stock to make an armature for a model sculpture. That led to my present passion; sculpting with repurposed aluminum wire. As the only artist anywhere sculpting with “looped wire,” it’s been challenging but wonderfully rewarding.

Joel Stevenson ~ Oil Abstracts and Wood Sculptures

Inspired by the many twists and turns of everyday life, Joel's work exhibits his vision of this energy, movement, and beauty reflected in our dances through daily dilemmas. With a background rooted in photography and sculpture and a passion for art, Joel has taken his creativity into painting to further explore his love for observing our everyday struggles and actions by transforming raw materials into captivating works of art.
